CHUNKY MONKEY

I got weighed again today and shocked everyone because i have put on another 18 1/2 oz which makes me 10lb 13oz this means that I have put on 2lbs since i was born.

Mummy is wondering what is in her milk?????

Here i am at Nanna and Grandads in my funky dungarees, as you can see im growing bigger everyday and Mummy and Daddy call me their CHUNKY MONKEY!

2 WEEKS OLD

Mummy and Daddy took me to get my birth registered so i am now offically RILEY THOMPSON.

This is me in my 1st pair of jeans on the Hoe with Mummy and Daddy.

We have now been discharged by the midwife, I got weighed again yesterday and was 9lb 10 1/2oz.

11 DAYS OLD!

Today I am 11 days old and the midwife came back to weigh me I now weigh 9lb 4oz.

Mummy and Daddy were not shocked at the big weight gain because I eat a lot.

Mummy and Daddy took me around Asda to do the shopping and I slept the whole time, We have also been to Nanna and Granddads for tea and Grandma and Granddads for tea.

Daddy is going back to work full time on Tuesday Mummy and me will miss him during the day.

BATH TIME!

This is me in the bath, i enjoyed kicking the water.

When it was time to get out of the warm water i didnt like it and cried a lot so mummy wrapped me in a towel to make me warm and i soon calmed down.

I have now met Uncle Anthony and some of Mummys friends came to visit...Freyah with her little boy George and Karen (Mini) with her little girl Hayleigh.

CHILLING WITH DADDY

Here are some photos of me with my Daddy i like to snooze on the sofa with him when we are both tired.

I got weighed yesterday and only lost 100 grams, this is very good because some babies can loose up to 400g in the first few days.

I eat a lot and at the moment im very well behaved for Mummy and Daddy even at night time.

I have had plenty of visitors this week, i have met my Nanna and Grandad with Uncle Lee, Uncle Jay and Auntie Lucy, then i met my Grandma and Grandad with my Uncle Dan.

I have also met all my great grand parents and some of Mummys friends from work.

I have been given lots of gifts and i really like all of them..thankyou everyone.

BIRTH STORY

(Here is Riley being weighed only minutes old.)

On Sunday 4th May Mummy started having contractions every 10 mins they went on all night and mummy had no sleep, then on Bank Holiday Monday the contractions just stopped for a few hours so Mummy and Daddy thought it must just be a false alarm.

That afternoon the contractions started again but were every 4-5 mins we rang the labour ward and they advised to stay at home a little longer.

At 18:00 the pains were a lot stronger so mummy and daddy went to the hospital where Mummy was assessed and we found that she was 4 cm dilated.

After lots of contractions and getting very high on entonox Mummy was re-assessed at 23:00 but had not made much progress as she was only 5-6cm dilated, the midwife decided to brake the waters to encourage baby out a bit quicker...which worked because 2 hours and 20 mins later our Baby Boy was born.

Mummy was so glad all the pain was gone and Daddy said he didnt like the birth as he felt so helpless seeing Mummy in pain and not able to do anything to help.

BUT IT WAS ALL WORTH IT IN THE END WHEN WE GOT TO HOLD OUR LITTLE MAN!

ITS A BOY!

He's here, Riley Thompson was born on 6th May 2008 at 01:18 and weighed a large 8lb 13oz.

Mum and Riley are both well and at home already after spending 2 nights in hospital.

We will post more about the birth soon, but here is our Baby Boy.

We have gone past the expected due date, and still wondering when baby thompson will make an appearance?????
Hopefully he/she wont make us wait too much longer.
The midwife said Baby is in the right position so its just a waiting game now.
Mummy tells baby several times a day that its time to come out now but he/she is being stubborn.... i wonder where it gets that from. (daddy)!!!!
